Getting Familiar with AVAZ:
For a breif overview of AVAZ you can find resorces under "Settings" at the top right hand corner of the screen and under the heading of Support, touch Avaz support. Messages: Single words are indicated with boxes
Categories: Vocabulary categories are indicated with folders (they look just like file folder). When you touch one of these, it will take you to a different page with additional vocabulary.
Additional vocabulary: some pages have more vocabulary than can be displayed on the page. If there is an up and down arrown in the upper right hand corner of the vocabulary pages you can scroll up or down for more words. If the arrow is grey then you can not scroll in that direction. If the arrow is black you can scroll in that direction.

Building a sentence: To create a sentence, touch the word you want and it will appear in the sentence bar. Keep touching words till you have completed your sentence. If you want the sentence to be spoken all together, touch the sentence bar and the sentence will be read.

- Quick: Provides access to common words and phrases for quick communication
- Core words: These are the words that make up the majority of our language such as pronouns, helping verbs, and prepositions
- Getting Started: Provides quick access to vocabulary to make simple requests
- Basic: Limited vocabulary is available to assist with new users
- Advanced: Allows access to full vocabulary for maximum communication

Picture mode vs. Keyboard mode: in picture mode, you touch the picture the build a sentence. In keyboard mode you can type a word to build a sentence. As you begin typing, the bar above the keyboard will predict what word you want. If you see the word you want, touch it and it iwll be added to the sentence bar.

Programming
Home page: To set your home page, touch "Settings" and under the Picture Settings (Behaviors)
To add your own content to Avaz, touch "Edit" at the top right of the screen. Touch "Add new" to the left of the sentence bar. Decide what kind of content you want to add and touch the associated content type. This will take you to the edit page. For a description of the options on this page, touch "?" at the top left of the edit page next to "Done".
